General information

The clinical research process is complex and is strictly regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). The purpose of the laws is to ensure the protection of individuals who participate in research and to ensure that the data obtained during a study is accurate and of high quality.
The Clinical Research Coordinator plays a critical role during the conduct of a research study. It is the main link between the site, the subjects, the IRB and the sponsor of the study (pharmaceutical industry).
